Spitskop - from behind Noordhoek Manor

NB: SADLY because of development the start of the walk described below is no longer possible. When we have investigated a new starting point, I will post it.
A steep climb, with wonderful views. Starting behind Noordhoek Manor Retirement Village, at the gravel road off Topaz Walk, we aim to walk up to Spitskop and across to the Silvermine Dam.
Meet at the Carpark at the Silvermine Dam (you will need Wildcard or money, and a SANParks dog activity card if you have a dog.) We can leave the cars here, and all get into the Land Rover - and another car depending on how many turn up - to drive to the start of the walk. Then once we have done the walk, someone can take us back to fetch the cars.
The get to the start of the walk (in case anyone would like to meet us there and get a lift back), turn off Ou Kaapse Weg into Silvemine Rd, then first right into Paddock Road. Then first left into Emerald Crescent - the road goes uphill and curves, then turn first right into Topaz Way; proceed to the top; the road has a 45 deg. bend. Bear left, bypassing Jasper Way on the right, and proceed along Topaz Way for a further 100 metres to where you see a gravel road going up onto the mountain.
From Spitskop you just do down the path into Silvermine and along the path back down to the Dam. It takes about three hours from start to finish (add on for tea and photographs). The path is a bit sloshy but dog friendly.
